Spicy food and alcohol, do they heat up your body or cool it down?
People claim to drink alcohol and eat spicy to keep warm in cold weather. But doesn't it actually give you the opposite effect in the long run?
Your metabolism speeds up and your body heat leaves your body , which ends up cooling down in the long run.
Can anyone give a scientific and precise answer to support this?
But Alcohol Makes Me Feel Warmer!" Of course, you knew it couldn't be that simple. Alcohol has a reputation for warming us up on cold days because it makes us feel warmer when we drink it. Alcohol causes blood vessels to dilate, which shifts blood flow to the surface of the skin where nerve endings respond to changes in temperature. A gallon of 99-degree blood flowing past our natural thermometers makes us feel all warm and cozy. (Anyone who's sipped hot toddies by the fire knows that feeling.) Unfortunately, when we're skiing in snow and we take a sip of brandy to give us a warm little pick-me-up, we aren't heating anything at all. Instead, we're letting more blood flow past the surface of the skin, where the cold outside air is able to steal a little bit more heat from our core.

Why do I bleed when I eat spicy foods or drink alcohol?
My question is: I don't understand the process. From the time I take a sip of vodka or eat a jalapeno, what happens in my digestion that causes my tissue in the rectum to tear? Are what is in the bowels irritating the tissue in that area?
Also, what is it that other people have, like my friends, that makes them able to consume much more spicy food and alcohol than me, AND NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS? Is it some sort of enzyme?
Was it hard to push it out when you pooped or did it pass without strain? If it did, then that's good because it explains why you have blood. It means you have constipation which both spiciness and alcohol are a direct cause of. If it didn't, then that's not good and you'll need to get diagnosed As for alcohol, alcohol drains your body's water supply and dehydrates you quickly leaving your intestines the first to feel its effects (remember that water is absorbed in your body ONLY through your large intestines).Hence why people say you should drink water to avoid a hangover from overdrinking.
What happens when you drink alcohol whine eating spicy food?
I've been completely mesmerized by jalapenos. I eat them with just about anything, and I was thinking of eating them with an alcoholic beverage, like beer or wine. So let's say I drink something light, like Smirnoff. Would that be safe?
I hope so because I do it all the time. Super spicy food with tequila is my favorite :) If I can handle that, I am sure you can handle yours too :)
Why can't you eat spicy food or drink alcohol after a tongue piercing? I have a blue mark on my tongue now?
Hi everyone,
I got my tongue pierced on Friday, and I totally forgot that I was allowed alcohol during the healing process and I drunk last night..I woke up this morning and I saw a small blue mark on the tip of my tongue almost. The mark is no where near the piercing, and it looks like well, a bruised tongue, if you like. Has anyone had that before??
And also my nan is cooking a curry for the whole family tonight..And its gonna be a bit spicy..? What should I do.. And do you think it'll be a problem if I ate the curry..?
Much thanks.
looks like your tongue is going to fall out. Its getting gangrene. You will not be able to eat any thing.
